Student Teacher Education Program
Under the mentorship of our director Sara Constantin, our Student Teacher Education Program (STEP) gives youth the opportunity to become leaders while learning how to time manage, take initiative, make healthy choices, communication skills, preparedness and more! At Squamish Dance Centre, we believe that having an opportunity to develop leadership skills at an early age creates positive, confident and successful humans. Our STEP program will provide your child with skills they can use both inside and outside the studio to shine as a leader!
What does our Student Teacher Education Program entail for your child? All dancers applying for the program will be required to attend our STEP 'Back To Dance Training' in September, commit to their scheduled assistant class(es), dedication to their own classes, willingness to receive feedback and improve their skills and volunteer time with studio events such as parades, community events and recitals.
We expect our STEP dancers to treat this as a job; learning how to be a reliable, initiative, confident and positive future employee or employer! We do not pay our Student Teachers. We provide mentorship with our director Sara Constantin including in person training meetings, Student Teacher t-shirt which they will wear to their Student Teacher classes, a Christmas gift and a year end gift! We also believe that showing appreciation and acknowledge successes/growth is important. Throughout the dance year we'll show our appreciation and congratulations with small gifts such as gift cards, letter from the teacher, one on one time with Sara Constantin and more!
