Wellness Program
Once a month, we will welcome a guest into our dance home to share their wealth of knowledge. The goal is to support youth's relationship with their body and mindset that intertwines with training and performance experience, but isn't always discussed in depth inside classes. Wellness Program is inclusive to our entire dance family and anyone else in our community who would like to join us for the wholesome conversations. Everyone is welcome no matter the child's age, gender, experience, goals, sport(s) and connection to SDC.
Topics will be along the lines of nutrition, social media, sleep, embracing mistakes, performance preparation, supporting injuries, and more!
In our effort to offer this as an accessible and inclusive learning opportunity, our Wellness Program is FREE! There is no extra cost to join the conversations and fill your box with new shiny tools.
OUR UPCOMING WELLNESS PROGRAM SESSION IS:
We will cover:
1. The Menstrual Cycle - phases of your cycle, hormones, common experiences + symptoms, when to seek help and more.
2. Understand options and impacts of birth control.
3. Training hard and maximizing performance through your cycle
4. The importance of lifestyle interventions for recovery.

- Studio F (Unit 1, upstairs)
- Topic: Hormones 101 — An overview of the menstrual cycle - what's normal/ what's not and what that means for sport. This topic will be tailored for ages 12-18yrs, but we still invite anyone interested to join the conversation. Come and learn in an open, judgement free zone about your body, your menstrual cycle and how it impacts sport and performance.
